Lucille Ball is an entertainer I have loved my whole life. She is truly the funniest woman who ever lived. My fondest memories I have with Lucy are being introduced to her by my mother. Both of us would watch “I Love Lucy” for hours. She was called “The First Lady of Television”, and for good reason. She was the first woman to head a major television studio and was instrumental in pioneering how sitcoms are shot. She was always very feminine and yet strong without being emasculating. The background of this portrait is sweetheart pink using a satin stitch, stitched in a woven checkerboard pattern. I included an Emmy Award to symbolize brilliance and mastery in Television. Her name was Lucille Ball, but in public passersby would shout “Hey Lucy!”
