Howard Hughes is one of the most brilliant men of the 20th Century. World-Class Aviator. Billionaire Heir. Movie Mogul. Ferocious Playboy. I chose to focus this portrait on the latter. This quilt has embroidered within its squares the names of the 43 more famous women he had affairs with. Some were sisters who Hughes saw at the same time. Many were under the age of 18 and he over the age of 40. There were starlets, debutants, heiresses who could match his wealth and one or two he considered equals and true loves. Whatever he called them, they were treated similarly to his planes and films and endured Property Management. The shape of the portrait is similar to that of a dollar bill and using many shades of green. Hughes’ portrait, taken of a young and roguish Hughes before his flying accidents, is encrusted in pearls.
